SRBA partner The Woolmark Company has announced it is taking a diverting approach to supporting the Royal Academy of Arts’ Australia exhibition – the largest collection of Australian art ever seen outside its home country - which closes on 8th December 2013.
As a part of its focus on celebrating the massive role that wool has played in forming both the landscape and culture of Australia and coinciding with Wool Week, The Woolmark Company has arranged for a flock of Bowmont Merino sheep to make a special appearance in the courtyard of the Royal Academy on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October. The event will also serve as a part of the Royal Academy’s family learning programme, with children of all ages attending to meet the sheep and learn all about wool.
Savile Row watchers will be reminded of the hugely successful Savile Row Field Day (pictured), which saw the whole of our famous street turfed over and turned over to sheep for the day.
Full details of the Australia exhibition and The Woolmark Company’s related initiatives can be found on the Royal Academy’s website here.
