Two hard worked for Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) Apprenticeship Certificates were awarded at this year’s British Tailors’ Benevolent Association Summer Ball at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall on 11th July.
Congratulations to Tom Pendry of Henry Poole for coat, vest and trouser cutting and Nicholas Hammond of Norton & Sons for coat making and trouser cutting.
Our training courses are crucial to the future of bespoke Savile Row tailoring and each of our members takes on at least one salaried apprentice every year. All Apprenticeship Certificate work is overseen by the Technical Committee of the SRBA, which comprises the head cutter of each member house.
As well as the usual festivities and presentations, attendees of this year’s Summer Ball were also afforded the opportunity of a look behind the scenes at the magnificent Merchant Taylors’ Hall, with a tour of the library, private upstairs rooms and kitchens.
