The English Gentleman again wowed all-comers at London Collections: Men with a stunning presentation of the very best of British tailoring and hat, shirt and shoe-making at Apsley House, the magnificent London residence of the Duke of Wellington.

Savile Row’s collective contribution to this season’s British Fashion Council sponsored men’s fashion week saw a swathe of beautifully dressed models positioned throughout the 92 feet-long Waterloo Gallery and other majestic rooms of this most stately of houses. The models were joined by members of the Household Cavalry, whose scarlet dress uniforms added a suitable dash to the occasion.

This was the fourth English Gentleman tableaux and its positioning in the prestigious closing slot of London Collections: Men underlined what a flagship event of the week it has become.

2015 marks the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo, when the Duke of Wellington vanquished Napoleon, and the splendid venue and presence of the Household Cavalry neatly highlighted Savile Row’s time-honoured role as a military tailor.
