The Service café at 32 Savile Row will be hosting a special Golden Shears exhibition from Monday July 26th.
Made possible by the generous support of leading Golden Shears supporter The Pollen Estate, the exhibition will showcase the work of each of this year’s finalists as well as that of previous winners and entrants.
The Golden Shears is often described as the Oscars of tailoring and promotes the work of fashion students and apprentice tailors throughout the UK while championing the art of bespoke tailoring.
Pictured, from top to bottom, are the entries from this year's The Golden Shears winner Tom Pierre Carr of Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) member Richard Anderson, The Silver Shears runner up Judith Ekblom Jarrold of Maurice Sedwell, and The Rising Star medallist Jon Pickering of SRBA member Dege & Skinner.
Simon Cundey, Chairman of The Golden Shears and Managing Director of Row stalwart and SRBA member Henry Poole, said of this year's entrants: “We are delighted that despite the difficulties they have faced we are able to put on a final worthy of their talent and promote the future of UK creative fashion and tailoring. We urge members of the public to come down to The Service and enjoy these creations as we have enjoyed witnessing their design and construction through to the final garments, all achieved by some of the tailoring industry’s most up and coming talented individuals.”
Julian Stocks, Property Director of The Pollen Estate added: “As a main supporter of The Golden Shears, we are delighted to welcome this exhibition to Savile Row, the global and cultural hub of bespoke tailoring. We hope visitors will enjoy gaining an insight into the world of tailoring as well as the unique crafts and skills which come with it.”
The Golden Shears exhibition is at The Service, 32 Savile Row from Monday 26th July to Monday 16th August. 8AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday, and 9.30AM to 4PM on Saturdays.
