Savile Row Bespoke Association member Richard James is celebrating the release this week of the Elton John biopic Rocketman with an in-store display of some of the very special bespoke pieces it has made for the legendary singer and songwriter.
Highlights of the display include three of the Swarovski crystal-embellished tailcoats (first and third pictures) that formed a part of the wardrobe for The Million Dollar Piano residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which ran from 2011 to 2018, and two Dot suits and matching shirts, one of which (middle picture) Sir Elton wore for his 2001 Grammy Awards performance with Eminem.
The display will be on show at Richard James’s flagship store at 29 Savile Row until 7th June.
Richard James Co-founder and Managing Director Sean Dixon commented: “Elton has got great individual style and he’s never been afraid to express himself, so he represents a lot of what Richard James is all about. He’s been an incredibly supportive friend and customer since we opened our first store on Savile Row in 1992 and Richard James wouldn’t be what it is today without him. As I hope this small tribute demonstrates, it’s always an honour and a pleasure to dress him.”
