Our condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues of Alex Cooke.
An extremely popular presence on Savile Row, Alex worked his way from Striker to Managing Director at Henry Poole & Co. He joined Poole’s in 1998 on a cutting apprenticeship, which he completed to become a Savile Row Cutter in 2003. And in 2008 he was promoted to Director of the company.
Alex achieved much at Henry Poole, particularly in Japan and the United States where he facilitated the company and developed many relationships that turned into lifelong friendships. He also headed some ground-breaking collaborations with notable industry leaders such as Adidas, Canada Goose, Range Rover and GoreTex.
Alex was recently recognised by the Lord Mayor of London with a City & Guilds Masters Certificate for services to the industry and the enormous part he played in training future generations of tailors.
A book of remembrance will be open until January 1st at Henry Poole for anyone who would like to record their condolences.
In place of flowers or gifts, any donations should be made to Garden House Hospice Care or the MND Association.
