Silver Screen Dege & Skinner

From the eponymous grey flannel suit that Huntsman cut for Gregory Peck, to Richard James dressing Hugh Grant for Bridget Jones’s Diary and the ensembles Henry Poole continues to make for Jason Momoa of Game of Thrones fame, Savile Row enjoys a long and enduring relationship with Hollywood and the world of film.

And now another chapter has been contributed to the story with the replica US Class A tunic that Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) founding member Dege & Skinner was commissioned to create for Kate Winslet to wear in the recently released Lee. A biopic of Lee Miller, the model turned photographer and Vogue war correspondent, the film was produced by Winslet, who also stars as its protagonist.

Dege were given access to Lee Miller’s original uniform - which itself was made on Savile Row by Kilgour, French & Stanbury in 1943 – in the course of the commission and Head Cutter Nicholas De’Ath and Cutter Alex Hills worked together to create an exact replica of it.

The uniform can be seen throughout the film and also features in the official trailer.
